The study also found reduced symptoms in children with respiratory infections due to its antibacterial healing properties.

Health Benefits of Lemon

Used in many culinary and medicinal applications, lemon is another controversial ingredient in the world of medical science. However, some health claims have been concluded undoubtedly, like its Vit. C, and fiber content that helps in nutrient absorption.

As part of the citrus family, lemon is a good source of Vitamin C, which boosts the immune system and helps in cell regeneration. One fruit has enough Vit. C to satisfy 20% of the daily intake for adults.

Improves Absorption of Nutrients.

A study released by PubMed Central found that the fiber content in citrus fruits, including lemon, increased the body’s ability to absorb and store much-needed iron, and other nutrients.

Improves Digestion

Lemons are made up mostly of carbohydrates, simple sugars, and fiber. These improve gut health and slow the body’s absorption of sugars, resulting in regulated blood sugar levels. Fiber, which makes up for the most health benefits, is found in the pulp of the fruit, so you would need to eat the flesh to garner its full benefits.

Lemons contain compounds, like Vitamin C and fiber, that are essential for cell and tissue health, nutrient absorption, and immunity boosting.
